A Streetcar Named Desire

Although the movie is belonging to white-and-black film, it is more obviously that the figures are more vivid than the colour. Covered with lies, the story was going as a rule that revealing the essence of the actress who has been looking upon people and nervous disposition.The reason why she looks upon the people around her was that she holds the view taht she still has a beautiful face. As for her profligacy , she met a teenage boy who comes by to collect money for the newspaper. She told a lie that a millionair often contects with her. Moreover,She even interfere the life between Stella and Stanley and she wanted Stanlry getting away from her sister. She also met a guy who named Mitch with soft-spoken and timid. Mitch wanted the heart from Blanche can be captured by his sincerity.



There is no exaggeration that Blanche is not a good model can be immitated. I really like the description about showing her life in Stella's house. This movie totally express the self-concepts, emotions,attitudes and behavior for everyone. It is apparent that the "desire" can be ranged from social problem to personal problem. Any function of details told me that both the actor and actress are the people who could be concluded by the idiom that a fox can grow grey but never good.



I think the most sympathetic charactor was Blanche, the least one was Stella. They have the relatianship and Blanche had stay in Stella's home for a long time until she was taken by doctor. Blanche need to be loved and forget the past. What she has experienced indicated that she was so fragile that she can not escape the past. Stella is a neutral person that sometimes she could make some idea for her sister.Although she is always fought by her husband, she can bear in mind and make some fun in her heart. Taken by what the Dichens said in A tale of two city that it was a best time and it was the worst time. Stella lived in a correspondingly simple house so basically she can be taken care of by Stanley sometimes. She could not make a lot of complain about Stanley because she need a place to live even she has been living a rude and unhappy life.


Looking back from the begenning to she became unconcious, the scene that she disliked Stanley, and she often quarreled with him as some sensative issue.Without concious about meeting with Mitch, Blanche really needed a human affection after her husband dead. At the same time, Mitch was relly interested in Blanche and fell in love with her. Blanche should have had a corresponding better life but her numerous sexual liaisons nad been said by Stanley made Mitch believe something reason he could not live with Blanche any more.She was also fired because she had an affair with a teenage. With depressed, Mitch even didn't attend the party which Blanche held. Stanley indicated to Blanche that Mitch was aware of her past. Eventually Blanche confessed her story in the past. She just wanted a man who can marry her, but she refused what Mitch wanted to have sex with her. At last she was raped by Stanley whatever she risisted. After weeks later, she was tatally wild when a doctor and nurse came to see her. Blanche still imaginated that she can be rescued by her ideal millionaire. Frankly, Blanche subdue herself into the bad ending.

There is no exaggeration we have always been impressed by kinds of art from child to adult. Unconciously we do not like to describe the art straightly but looking for some topic and issues relatived with the art such as a range from some photographs which had a doubt that was considered to be sensored to some entertament moment captured vividly. To some extent I become more and more concious to go into the world of art without any predjudice and acceptable to know some interesting artists. Art should be shared whatever the epoch the artists experienced.

During the courses of learning Sally Mann and making presentation I realiaed that the art is a kind of emotional needs. Physical contact with others is essential to meet our social and emotional needs. The very survival of the individual and the group depends on its members being properly socialized. We should bring home to people that the self-assertion we can judge from our own opinin.

I really appreciated that Jessica left me an opportunity to make a group with John and Uchy who are really helpful and responsible for every part of the presentation. We had met a series of problem which we couldn;t find our book for the artist before we decided another one who named William Klein. Printing the key contents and organizing the structure was one of the most difficult things I have never poured into my passion. For noe thing, I really love the work taht finding the clue which the artist has been lookiong forward to the realistic. Second I am sure the artist and the art itself can bring me abundant materials which I can put them in my design.

Art, indeed, will be aplicable to our life without attention.

The essence of movie

the purpose of art is to upset. In fact, as people grow or aging, the crevice between the intrinsic world of the mind and the extrinsic world shrinks in magnitude of making film.

art is human activities, which change in content and form from time to time and from culture to culture. Hence, the function it is in no case understood homogeneously, at least viewed from the spatiotemporal perspective. So I agree with the idea that movies are both art-form and entertainment.

One of the most my favourite movies which has been leaving me more space to appreciate is The Lord of the Ring. The Lord of the Ring was a series of movies since it had been made. I fond of it is more because the fantasy scene and script than because it was awarded 11 items for Oscared award.The movie was well-organized and basically lived up to the original fiction. The movie described about the struggle between powers of good and evil.

Whatever the commercial mvie or the art movie, both of which contein the value and the preoccupation. Every time when I whatch a new movie I could focus on something hidden in the movie rather than the outline can be remembered. The standard of my view to judge a movie whether good or not depend on the discription for the form and function in movies. To gain any kind of happiness,especially the feeling from movie, we should keep mind open and make sense what our feeling will be going well or not.

Mann and censorship

1 At first time I think the pictures of completely naked is incredible cuase no one photographer like Mann dared do that without fear from the public. Whatever the negative comments, the defination of sensual and celebratory are one of the charactor we should have had. Mann made a warn to make the people sense of the happiness and freedom in the childhood.Without any decorated elements,the black and white picture show us clearly about the essence of our mind. We should relax during the childhood rather than make everything under pressure. There ie no necessary to avoid the happen for sensual and innocent and so on. Actually we have these mood and feelins in mind just cannot express straightly. So Mann break throgh the taboos.

2 I think art is a revelation of social temper,which reveals the general state of mind of the majority. Artists improve people's sensitivity to beauty and help enlarge men's capacity for feelings,thought,and imaginations.I think Mann just really have been pursuiting the pure art from her life. What she has done was just for fun.

3 The pictures from her should not be censored as the basic for pursuiting art. We can think about deeply why Mann prefer to using the old fashioned camera instead of the digital camera in morden society. It is the truth that we are becoming more and more hypocricy for decorating our shape outside. We should preserve and carry forward the trodtional arts just like the black and white photoes. Artist bring pleasure and spiritual food to us.Although the troditional arts may not creat commercial benefits, they can enrich our spiritual life and civilize our society. They have rights to keep their style in the world. They have rights to show some different idea digesting from their special view.

About our presentation----from the music part

I am really appreciate to talk about my presentation. It was complished by Mia, Natalia and I and was full of our perspiration. One of the most meaningful things is the idea what we decided. It was composed of three different elements which came from our own idea, making our points possible to be "the prayer dream freedom". I really like this main idea as soon as I made a link by using the three words. It can be described as a story happening among our life.

We had the difficulties in explaining the lyrics because our imitation was pappered with something of religion which so far we have not been making sense. With the undeveloped minds, only the structure and the rythm for the end of words can we take control. As for the contents, what we've learned was the semiconcious state in the original song; moreover, we didn't have adequate ability to build a perfect and ideal idea for the contents.

Luckily, we made a teamwork for building the lyrics and making the end of words more beautifully. When we finished the lyrics, the smile was apparently in our face. In my view, the rythm of the word is the easiest thing in our group. We talked about them using our imagination. Consequently, we made the lyrics sounds more activity and beautifully.

I had had full confidence with my patners before we took the presentation. Indeed we organized it well and we did our part with responsability. Mia was charge for the part one which was the comments for Madonna. Subsequently,I played the video for everyone and explained the imitation from the original song. Natalia hold the comments for MLK in part three. Actually we learned something new from others groups,especially the group from James who made some question in their presentation and gavemore space for everyone to consider. We imitated their style for our own. I really appreciated them.

Thoughts can be shared, but our problems seemed to be more difficulit for everyone. I knew the reason after our presentation. For the lack of specific explaination, we couldn't make our main idea clearly. We should do some changes for the contents.


All in all, we have gained more benefits from the music unit. Generally promote everyone's enjoyment and understanding of music and presentation by means of the collection and by such other means as they consider appopriate.


About the next unit ----Art

Last week we learned the next part in seminar.It related the artist to the art itself. One of a question I really want to ask is "how does the people understanding the art ".It is imperative that our national rich and diiverse heritage in the arts and culture be preserved, enhanced, and publicly supported if we are to see the continuation of a trodition that has inspired people living and working here. It can become a sensative question as I think.

Nowadays,we have mentioned a lot of topic about music.I want to make some fresh and tell you some interesting things in China.One of my favorite to tell you is relating to the gift.
There are many times people send gifts in China. For example,when people go to a birthday party; visit a patient ;visit friends’ home; invited to festive greetings,invited to be a guest and so on.
I have received and gave many gifts in my life,such as books ,clothes,flowers ,computer and even a piece of music can be regarded as o gift. From my parents,I get many wishes,care and economic help.From my friends,I get friendship and trust .From teachers ,I get ways of learning.
I think there are so many gifts popular in China , for example,health products for olds , cultural or culture-related products, wine or liquor, pre-packed gift boxes;fruits; local products; clothes and so on .People would likevchoose gifts which have a special meaning or buy something that their friends or relatives actually need.
I sent out a big wedding photo made by corss needlework to my best friend. It took me 2 months to make it. When they received it, they liked it very much It's a hassle for a lot of people who are invited to those wedding receptions. The problem lies in not just the pocket, but also what to buy. It is very hard to buy a creative and suitable gift to newly-weds. So, DIY is a good idea.

About Madonna

Here I don't hold any view filled with hostility to critisize Madonna. I know that Artists enrich people's spiritual life and evoke people's feeling. All the three question of my views are all established on respectful and objective to Madonna.

1 The music can be set off and presented at range of form and structure,the lyrics also can be papered with all kinds of contents from society.In my opinion it is actually true in that period of time has happened something triggering the singer like to sing the music coverd with virginity,pregnancy, and money.
These songs are reflectd some negative phenomenon and potential threat between material and spirit.The form of lyrics might be over frank and the voice of Madonna might be over showing off. It doesn't matter that where is the music from but whether it can be accepted or not.In fact Madonna gained more benefits from her songs.
In spite that I'm confused about the lyrics ,I tried to understand and compare the music between Madonna ,Bob Dylan and Waters.Living in the different time,what they sing has different form.The lyrics for Dylan are just like poems fulling of melody,making people relax.As for Waters,the song may be a little simple but from his lifetime,he just tried to write his song digesting some elements from his life.Madonna seems like singing songs as way to descibe a real story.
2 I believe that it is truth everyone who holding a passion like to be a super star with some style of dressing and changing.Once the different elements is rooted in a song,the influences will be spreaed.People will get a impression of the singer.It is a mean that Madonna has been used and never give it up.To some extent ,what she has done has made her under the highlight focus all over the world.
I'm appreciat that Madonna dare to show off her passion in different kind of styles.Maybe her openess sometimes easy to be misunderstood and critisized as an evil behavior.We can gain more positive attibute from her voice to the music itself.We can also tell some thing from her song whether to be accepted or not.
3 I'm noy sure what I founded are right for the topic .I think Madonna has experienced a hard cource of her life.
After her mother passd away she began to be tough.She has played the piano.She aldo has learned the ballet and honoured the scholarship by University of Michigan.In 1978,she had given up her sdudy beore she went to New York opening her own career.
"That consciousness is everything and that all things begin with a thought.That we are responsible for our own fate,we reap what we sow,we get what we give,we pull in what we put out."I really admire this sentence because it is the perfect answer that can be representative for the whole life of Madonna.
It can not be found from her music that her story has been written in her songs.That is a hard time during 60s and 70s.She put all experiece from that time into the album showing off her lengency.
